PIX-E Series Firmware v2.01

Video Devices PIX-E Series firmware - (v2.01) provides a stability patch for the previously released version 2.00. This patch corrected some rare issues, such as where some monitors displayed corrupt images.

Video Devices PIX-E Series firmware - (v2.01) provides a stability patch for the previously released version 2.00. This patch corrected some rare issues, such as where some monitors displayed corrupt images.

Video Devices PIX-E Series firmware - (v2.01) provides a firmware update for the PIX-E5, PIX-E5H, and the PIX-E7. Version 2.00 added support for the PIX-LR audio interface, an optional accessory that mounts to the bottom of any the PIX-E Series monitor. The new features and changes, first released in v2.00, and described in Full Detail below, still apply to this release of v2.01.

It is highly recommended that users update to the latest version of firmware available as soon as possible.

Full Detail - Features and Changes

Video Devices PIX-E Series firmware - (v2.01) provides a firmware update for all previously released versions. This patch corrected an issue with some monitors having screen corruption, along with the following fixes.

Fixed

  • Rare issue with some units where screen displays a corrupt image after Video Devices Splash Screen, mid operation, or entering/exiting playback.
  • Rare issue where unit would restart during record.
  • Rare issue where recording would stop and report “Drive is too slow.”
  • Rare issue where the audio channels would swap to different channels.
  • Video Output signal was missing last two columns of image.
  • Rare intermittent low level audible clicks in headphone monitor, SDI Out, and PIX-LR XLR Outputs.
  • Improved incoming SDI resolution and rate detection.

The new features and changes described below—first released in v2.00 on March 14, 2016—still apply to (v2.01).

 

New

  • Supports the new PIX-LR audio interface, an optional accessory that mounts to the bottom of any PIX-E monitor.
  • Supports Record Start/Stop triggers on SDI Out (PIX-E5 and PIX-E7 only).

 

Fixed

  • Issue where cross & dot marker did not appear on LCD when selected.
  • Issue where SpeedDrive would not always mount.
  • Issue where PIX-E monitor would not properly recognize incoming 4444 signals at boot up.
  • Incorrect playback of ProRes 4444 files.
  • SpeedDrive performance optimization to reduce "Drive is to slow" condition. To benefit from these improvements, please reformat the SpeedDrive after upgrading PIX_E firmware to v2.00.
  • General system stability improvements.

Note: Enhancements made and issues resolved in previous firmware updates still apply.

Known Issues

This is a list of any published Known Issues for the latest PIX-E Series Firmware

  • When 720p is coming in and the monitor is set to anamorphic desqueeze with the following combination of settings (16:9, 2x, Full), the display will be noticeably choppy. This is only a display issue; the recordings are fine. Display of incoming 720p with any other combination of anamorphic desqueeze settings is okay, and the aforementioned combination of settings will work just fine with other resolutions.
